I am freaking out about seeing Mark Hamill speak on the Friday afternoon at five. I bought a ticket to go and see him and I hope they let me in since I'll be running from my own presentation. I won't even have a chance to line up for a good seat! However, it will be so cool so to see one of my teen crushes in the flesh at last! I saw Star Wars the day it came out and proceeded to see it 28 times that year. Star Wars definitely influenced my life and Luke Skywalker played by Mark Hamill was my favourite character.

Sephera Giron is author of Witch Upon a Star series from Riverdale Avenue Books.

Lizzie Borden House 2016

Follow me on Patreon to see ALL of the evidence!
There was a lot of activity at the Lizzie Borden house this time around. You can see in this picture of  Kylo Ren with the K2 meter that the meter went up to five. That was a constant and you can see the video footage over at Patreon. I have a lot of evidence up behind the wall at Patreon. If you like ghost hunting evidence, you'll like some of my clips.

Here are some of the members of HWA you'll meet at Fan Expo with the exception of Monica S. Kuebler who won't be there this year.

I won't be at the Horror Writers Association booth at Fan Expo as I will have my own booth in the Horror Section.

Recently I had the pleasure of meeting one of my childhood idols, Judy Blume. Scratch another one off my bucket list.

Judy gave a lovely talk at the Toronto Reference Library followed by a multi-hour book signing event.

I went with childhood friend, Sara. I can't think of a better way to spend an evening!

In other crazy writer news, Nick Cutter has a new book out called The Acolyte from Chizine Publications.

There's a promo going around about it and you can have fun burning yourself in effigy as well. Go on, I dare you!

Expiration Date Anthology and Lizzie Borden

The anthology "Expiration Date" is now available in both print and e-book platforms wherever books are sold.

Some of the authors and editor Nancy Kilpatrick held a signing and reading at Sellers and Newell Bookstore on College Street in Toronto.

Kelley Armstrong reads part of her story in Expiration Date.

There was a conference in Toronto called Ad Astra. There was a launch party there as well.

The story "What Would Lizzie Do?" is inspired by the Lizzie Borden Bed and Breakfast in Fall River and the events that transpired therein.

Hellnotes Reviews Weird Tales of Terror

I've been thrilled at the warm reception my collection WEIRD TALES OF TERROR has been receiving in recent months. This month, there was a fabulous review in HELLNOTES.

As the review states, nearly all of the pieces are early work that I didn't know where to place.

Here's a taste of what William Gabrowski had to say:

For early work this is well-crafted, potent material. During the read, I kept telling myself: “This stuff is like Joyce Carol Oates as directed by David Cronenberg.” In case you missed it, that’s meant as a compliment.

Weird Tales of Terror is available as a trade paperback or an ebook from Amazon
