Sèphera's Halloween Schedule 2021

Sèphera's Halloween Happenings

'Tis the season for thrills and chills, for creepy things, for the shadow people to come out to play.

I have a few things going on this Halloween season so thought I'd post some of them here.

As you can see above, I'm going to do three readings on my Twitch channel this month. I figure I won't be going anywhere so might as well you some of my favourite creepy tales. I'll read The TellTale Heart for sure as well as The Raven on another night. As for the rest, I'll see what hits me as I browse through my collections.

It's free to watch streams on Twitch. It's free to make an account if you want to chat or interact. You can cancel your account anytime. You might be surprised who all is on there from NASA to gamers to horror writers!

Frightmare in the Falls October 29- 30, 2021

Come to historic Niagara Falls, Ontario on Halloween weekend for a real live horror convention! Meet some of your favourite B movie stars as well as writers, artists, and gamers. Wear your favourite horror cosplay. Come by The Great Lakes Horror Company booth to see Andrew Robertson, Sèphera Girón and surprise guests.

There will be a limited amount of paperbacks of  Captured Souls, Flesh Failure, and A Penny Saved for sale. Autographs are always free as are pictures!

On the SCREAM: Chills and Thrills app, Captured Souls and Flesh Failure are packaged together in one book and titled Experiments in Terror just like they were packaged together in the print version when originally published by Samhain Horror Publishing a couple of years ago. At Frightmare in the Falls, you can buy them as separate print books. I only have a few of each, so come by the booth early so you don' t miss out!

I'm sure there will be other things coming up so watch my social media!

Christine Whitlock entices the readers!

Sometimes, ahem, most of the time, camera phones take sucky pictures. This is actually a tall and very well put together Kylo Ren. He was a real sweetie under the mask as well. I would have talked longer to him but my parking was expiring and I had to get all the Horror Writers Association booth crap to the car before it turned over another ten bucks. I didn't even show him my Kylo Ren watch or the little Kylo I keep in my purse.

There were no Kylo Rens coming through the dealer's room. There were a couple of people who I thought might be Kylo Ren but also could have been any number of black hooded characters with a saber. I know a lot of video game and comic book characters but certainly not all of them. There were a couple of lady Kylos but they never came by my actual booth. One was really cool and I should have taken her picture. She had black Rey hair, black Rey outfit, Kylo scar across face, and red saber. I liked that interpretation of characters. I also thought I saw, before the show began, the lady Kylo Ren who is in a picture on another post in this blog but she never came into the dealer's room. I began to realize that a lot of cosplayers weren't going into the dealer's room around two or three o'clock but it was a very long hike to go watch them all posing for photos and playing on the different floor levels, looking for my Kylo Ren and I needed to be near the booth! Surely there was a tall, adult Kylo Ren cosplayer who would like to play with me somewhere at this entire convention of cosplayers?!

I had given up hope of getting a Kylo Ren picture this time, and I have gotten some good ones ever since The Force Awakens came out only one year ago. But alas, there would be none today and it made me sad. Then I saw this young man on another floor when I was on the way out and back in my street clothes and just flat out asked him if he'd pose with me.

It was nice of this young man to pose with me. I wished there had been someone to take our picture properly and I would have done way more poses. However, random stranger that I nabbed to click didn't seem too enthusiastic so that was that though I'm very appreciative of his effort. I'm very grateful to  both random strangers for indulging my Kylo fetish. Anyway, this Kylo Ren in the picture is going to Rogue One on Thursday so have a good time, "Kylo" if you see this! I'm going to Rogue One on Thursday as well, but not at the same theatre. I'm sure he's relieved about that! ha!

I don't know if this Kylo Ren is the one who posed with me as this picture was taken a few hours earlier!
I guess once Rogue One comes out, there will be more Darth Vaders and even less Kylo Rens plus lots of new characters at next year's events. But in the meantime, I'm happy I got some Kylo pics!

Busy Times for Sephera

Order Borrowed Flesh Here!

The past few months have been very busy.

I'm thrilled to announce that I've signed my third contract with Samhain Horror Publishing for my erotic horror novella, A Penny Saved.

A Penny Saved is based on the nursery rhymes revolving around the concept of picking up pennies for good luck. Here in Canada, pennies were discontinued as a currency, so to find one is a curious matter. Nowadays, we find nickels and dimes.

Cora hoards the pennies she finds, wishing for power, fame, sex, and money. Lots of money.

As she realizes she can trade sex for money, she fast tracks to the top of the company in haze of bondage parties and corporate meetings. The lines between good and evil, earth and hell blur as her lust for greater and bigger deals spirals her towards darker places.

Necon eBooks have redesigned my books. Here are the first two, Borrowed Flesh and The Birds and the Bees.

This is the third set of covers for both of these books and as an author, I must say it's pretty cool to see how artists interpret my mad ramblings!

I love both of these covers and can't wait to see how they're going to redo House of Pain and Mistress of the Dark!

Order The Birds and the Bees Here!

Next Public Appearance!

I will be at Toronto Festivus Comi-Con at the Convention Center on Front Street Sunday December 14, 2014.  I will be running both the Horror Writer's Association booth and my own person booth.

If you'd like a tarot reading from me in person, this is your chance! I'm only charging $20 for a tarot reading this Sunday. I will also have some of my vials of special incense, gemstones, and other charms at a deep discount.

What's Next?

A web series segment produced and directed by filmmaker Chris Griffin called Bar Tab  is being shot in January and I get to be in it!

I'm working on a horror novel called Boy's Club.

Fan Expo Rue Morgue's Festival of Fear August 22 - 25, 2013

On Thursday August 22 until Sunday August 25, hundreds of thousands of people will be lured to the behemoth convention known as FAN EXPO.

FAN EXPO TORONTO is comprised of half a dozen conventions all under one roof. RUE MORGUE'S FESTIVAL OF FEAR encompasses horror media from celebrities, movies, comic books, novels, and more.

The location at the Toronto Convention Center on Front Street under the CN Tower means that people have easy access no matter which mode of transit you choose. There are loads of hotels within walking distance as well with some offering special convention rates if you ask.

For over a decade now, local authors and international authors alike have appeared at Festival of Fear. In years past, it was challenging to find authors because they were spread out throughout the convention, wherever there might be a spot among exhibits to put a couple of tables of authors. One year a few of us were in the TELETOONS aisle, which was fun for me since I love those shows, but not conducive to flogging erotic horror around six year olds lined up for a cartoon voice actor's autograph.

Last year, they decided to put the horror authors into a cohesive section. I myself was in the main exhibit hall since I was running a commercial booth for the HORROR WRITERS ASSOCIATION. The horror authors were out in the exhibition hall in a row. It's easy to spot them but it's also easy to run on by and not notice them.

I'm not certain if the set-up will be the same again this year.

Many authors, including myself, are on panels. Check your program guide to see when and where the panel rooms are and who is speaking when!

Here are some pictures from previous years at FESTIVAL OF FEAR
